President's Message

We are rapidly approaching the end of our competitive marching season and

beginning to transition into concert band. For those of you who have

students who are not participating in concert band this trimester - our

thanks to your student for their efforts. Please remember, they are still

required to support the remaining marching activities (football games, parades, etc) through December.

The band parents are beginning to transition as well - from contests, football games and concession stands to fund raising and opportunities to grow the band program and band parent organization. We are turning our focus towards activities that will allow us to raise the funds necessary to replace old, failing instruments and other equipment. There will be many opportunities for you to get involved in these fund raising activities. In addition, there will be several opportunities for your student to raise money for their student account. Watch this newsletter and the monthly band parent meetings (3rd Monday of the month) for information on how you can get involved with our fund raising programs.

In September, our parents volunteered 1,482 hours to the band program. In

October, that number jumped to 2,863 hours! This shows incredible parental

support for the Pride of Bixby Marching Band!

Coming Events

Tuesday, November 11th - the band has been invited to play at the Spirit

Bank Event Center for a Buy-Bixby kick off event. The student's call time is 4:30 pm at the school. The event is scheduled to run from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The dress code is Blue Travel shirts. The band students will be fed by the organizers at the Spirit Bank Event Center. All Bixby residents are encouraged to attend!

Friday, November 14, PLAYOFF Football at home vs McAlester, Student call time is 5:00 pm. We will need extra help with concessions - please contact

Concession Stand News

Our next varsity game is November 14. We desperately need volunteers for this game. Our concessions stands are our main fund raising activity for the band parents. Our concession teams have been working very hard this year and would love to have you help.

There are jobs to be done that do not require a food handlers permit - so

don't let that hold you back. Please contact Kelli Heath at bixbyband@olp.net or 704-5077 to volunteer.
